Dumpster Rental Cost in Michigan: What to Expect

Dumpster rental pricing varies more than most people expect. The same project can cost significantly different amounts depending on the company, the size, the debris type, and the rental period. Here's what actually drives the cost and how to make sure you're getting a fair price.

The 15-yard and 20-yard trailers are priced differently. The 20-yard costs more, but it's often the better value for larger projects because it eliminates the need for a second haul.

Standard rentals are 3–5 days. Extended rentals cost more. If you need the trailer longer, let us know upfront — we can often accommodate extended rentals at a reasonable rate.

Most general debris (furniture, drywall, wood, household junk) is included in the base price. Heavy materials like concrete, dirt, and roofing shingles may affect pricing because of disposal costs and weight.

Both our trailers include 2 tons (4,000 lbs) in the rental price. Loads over 2 tons are charged additionally. This is the most common source of surprise charges — especially on roofing and concrete jobs.

Delivery fees vary based on distance from our base. We serve all of Southeast Michigan, and pricing reflects the delivery distance.

When you rent from RedArk, the base price includes:

• Delivery to your location
• The rental period (3–5 days standard)
• Pickup and haul-away
• Disposal fees for standard debris
• Up to 2 tons of weight

There are no hidden fees for standard jobs. The only extras are for overweight loads, extended rental periods, or prohibited materials.

Know your weight. If you're hauling heavy materials — concrete, dirt, roofing shingles — be realistic about how much you have. Call us and describe the job; we'll help you estimate.

Don't mix prohibited materials. If we arrive to pick up and find prohibited items (paint, chemicals, tires, electronics), there may be additional charges or we may need to leave the trailer for you to remove those items.

Book the right size. A second haul costs more than upgrading to the larger trailer upfront. If you're on the fence, go with the 20-yard.

Stick to the rental period. If you need more time, call us before the pickup date. We can often extend the rental — but it's easier to arrange in advance than on the day of pickup.

For small loads — a few bags of trash — hauling it yourself makes sense. But once you're dealing with furniture, appliances, construction debris, or a full cleanout, the math changes quickly.

Consider:

• Your time: Multiple dump runs take hours
• Your vehicle: Not everything fits in a pickup truck
• Dump fees: Michigan transfer stations charge by weight
• Convenience: One delivery, one pickup, done

For most projects, renting a dumpster is faster, easier, and often cheaper than the alternative once you factor in your time and multiple dump runs.
