How Much Does Drywall Weigh?
A standard 4-foot-by-8-foot sheet contains 32 square feet. At approximately 1.6 pounds per square foot, a standard half-inch sheet weighs about 51 pounds. The actual weight of any panel depends on several factors:

Is Plaster Heavier Than Drywall?
Traditional plaster-and-lath assemblies are often much heavier than modern gypsum-board walls. Plaster thickness may vary across the same room, and wood or metal lath adds additional weight.
